Believing These 8 Flu Shot Myths May Put Your Health at Risk

2. The flu shot takes effect immediately

Yes, this one is also a myth, and yes, it’s also pretty common. According to experts, it takes about two weeks after getting the shot for your body to build up enough antibodies to protect against the virus. This means you could still get the flu during that two-week waiting period.

You may think this is rare, but it’s actually common to catch influenza in this time frame, especially during the virus peak season. So people who became sick and had gotten the shot several days ago may think that the vaccine doesn’t work, or worse, that it gave them the flu.

The thing about flu shot myths is that they’re so spread that it’s pretty easy to believe them when so many people around you do the same.

By the way, here’s a ginger tea that can help soothe your sore throat when you’re sick.

No point in reading past #1…This point right off the bat is WRONG…My father would get the flu every time he took the flu shot so he stopped getting them and no more flu. So…stop spreading lies!!!
