These are the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s!

Every grocery store has something unique, whether it’s a wide product selection, incredible prices, proximity to your home, senior discounts, or freebies. One of my friends used to work at Trader Joe’s, and she was incredibly excited about all the kitchen staples she could get before anyone else.

She loved trying wines, cheeses, meats, and other delicious things that only this grocery store knew how to make. Since we’re all interested in being healthier and treating our bodies right, I asked her what she thinks the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s are. If you’re looking for delicious and healthy items to add to your meals, you’re going to love today’s article.

The best part is that all of these products are perfect for people who don’t have a lot of time to cook their meals but don’t want to neglect their health and fitness goals. So, without further ado, here are the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s:

1. Pastrami-style smoked Atlantic salmon

Can someone resist a tasty and soft bagel with cream cheese? Probably not, but unfortunately, this is not a nutritious meal. It tastes good, but your stomach will be rumbling two hours later.

But you can try something else that tastes even better, is full of protein, and will fuel your body with all the right nutrients until lunchtime. The pastrami-style smoked Atlantic salmon will make your morning bagels a lot healthier and more nutritious.

The fish is smoked using an incredible combination of wood from maple, oak, cherry, and apple trees, which adds a subtle sweetness that goes well with the brine of sugar and salt and the mixture of pastrami-style spices like paprika, coriander, and allspice.

You can put this salmon in a bagel along with cream cheese, tomatoes, baby spinach, and a splash of vinegar to have a delicious breakfast, or you can eat it in bowls or salads for lunch or dinner. This is one of the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s, and if you combine it with a side dish of spicy Sriracha-mayo dressing, quick-pickled red onions, and a sprinkle of capers, your taste buds will thank you.

2. Japanese-style fried rice

Since this grocery store has a ton of products available, many of them are missed by both crew members and customers. But not anymore. If you want to eat healthily and don’t have a lot of time to cook from scratch, one of the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s is Kung Pao tempura cauliflower.

While fried rice is delicious, this one is also incredibly tasty, with a variety of unexpected flavors and textures. This Japanese-style fried rice features a significant quantity of protein (8 grams per 1 cup cooked), lots of shelled edamame, and morsels of fried tofu and hijiki seaweed. It is flavorful and has no shortages.

My friend recommended eating it with eggs, grilled chicken or halloumi, a big slash of chile paste, or a few cubes of tofu for extra protein. This is surely one of the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s, so check it out when you can.

3. Kung Pao tempura cauliflower

If you love cauliflower, you shouldn’t neglect this incredible food. But I have to warn you: if you share this meal with someone you love, there’s a chance you’ll fight for the last piece.

The reason why the Kung Pao tempura cauliflower is one of the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s is because of its incredible flavors. The crunchy cauliflower florets are combined with the mild sweetness of the tempura-style batter and the tongue-cracking heat of the kung pao sauce to make a boring veggie taste heavenly.

You can serve this dish as an appetizer when you have people over, or you can eat it with fried chicken and rice. Get creative in the kitchen, and don’t stop at just tossing the cauliflower with the Kung Pao sauce it comes with. Another delicious way to eat this veggie is with buttery Buffalo sauce, which will take your taste buds to heaven. Make sure you add a source of protein to your meal so you’re satisfied for hours, and enjoy!

4. Marinated quartered artichokes

Do you love Italian food? If the answer is yes, these marinated quartered artichokes are one of the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s. I love eating these as a simple, salty snack when I’m peckish, but I know how to whip up a great meal that transports me to a rustic Italian trattoria.

My secret recipe contains pasta, white beans, marinated artichoke, garlic, and crispy pancetta. Just cook the white beans, garlic, and pancetta in olive oil and a dash of liquid gold marinade. When the pasta’s ready, add it to the pan, toss some baby spinach in if you want extra iron and greens, and serve hot with lots of Parmesan on top. If you don’t like maturated cheese, you can add a burrata.

5. Grainless granola

You wouldn’t expect to talk about the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s without saying anything about granola, would you? If you’re a fan of salty sweets like I am, you’ll fall in love with this granola.

This salty and sweet grainless granola is one of the best foods to add to your breakfasts, snacks, or desserts. It perfectly combines dried coconut, nuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds, and each caramelized cluster will be the cherry on top of your next smoothie bowl.

This is one of the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s for good reason, and I love that it’s quite low in sugar. Each 3/4-cup serving contains only 6 grams of added sugar, 7 grams of fiber, and 9 grams of protein, which helps you stay full and energized without experiencing a blood sugar rise or crash.

This granola is so hearty and subtly sweet that I almost can’t believe it doesn’t include any oats or other grains. Like me, you’ll probably find yourself scarfing down this granola straight from the bag. It’s that good!

…However, if you don’t like this granola or prefer something more affordable, check out this one! The taste is amazing, and the quality is top-notch!

6. Sesame honey cashews

If you’re unsure what snacks to eat but crave something rich in protein, healthy fats, and fantastic taste, these sesame honey cashews are one of the best items to buy at Trader Joe’s.

You can eat them straight from the bag, or chop them up and toss them into a granola bowl, into your cereal, as a topping for yogurt, or into a smoothie bowl. They’re salty and sweet at the same time, and the flavor is perfectly balanced.

However, they can be quite addictive, and although they have about 7 grams of sugar per 1/4-cup serving, cashews are still high in calories, so pay attention.
