If you’re seriously sick, you shouldn’t get the flu shot
Being sick, like having a very high fever, pneumonia, or having recently been in a hospital, isn’t an excuse to skip your flu vaccine altogether. But it might be wise to wait until you’re fully recovered.
If you get your flu shot while you’re extremely sick, the vaccine might not be as effective, and it can extend the amount of time it takes for you to get better, explains a doctor, since your body is trying to fight your condition and build up enough antibodies to beat the flu.
But, once you’re better, you should get your flu shot with an okay from your doctor. If you have a cold or a mild case of the sniffles, it’s better to get your vaccine so that your body has sufficient time to build up a resistance to the flu as soon as possible.
If you have any apprehensions, speak to your physician about your symptoms before getting vaccinated.

I have gotten a flu shot every fall for many many years. I had the shot this past Monday. I had never had a reaction until this time. Hours later I started shaking so bad I woke up and I couldn’t stop. It wore off and my arm got hot, really hot, from the shot part of the way down my arm. This was a strange reaction.
